Understanding Ingrown Toenail Treatment

It's Time You Start Living Pain Free

An ingrown toenail happens when the edge of your nail grows into the surrounding skin—causing pain, redness, swelling, and sometimes infection. While home remedies may offer short-term relief, professional treatment is often needed to stop the problem from coming back. At Christie Foot & Ankle, we provide quick, gentle ingrown toenail treatment to remove the source of discomfort and help you heal safely.

4 Signs You May Need Ingrown Toenail Treatment

If you’re wondering whether your toenail issue needs medical care, here are four signs it’s time to see a podiatrist:

Persistent Pain or Tenderness

Ongoing pain on the side of your toenail that worsens with pressure or walking.

Swelling or Redness Around the Nail

Signs of inflammation that suggest the nail is pushing into the skin.

Drainage or Infection

Pus, warmth, or severe redness may indicate an infection that needs prompt treatment.

Recurring Ingrown Toenails

If you’ve treated it before and it keeps coming back, it’s time for a more permanent solution.

What our Patients Are Saying

Emily M

“Dr. Christie was wonderful during the worst cellulitis infection I’ve ever experienced. He was able to come in to Elliot in Manchester while I was there and go over how we were gonna tackle it. The incision and drainage was done perfectly and I was able to heal within a few weeks! I owe a lot to him for his expertise and time in helping me overcome this difficult health issue. Highly recommend!”

Maria D

“Dr Christie is a 5* Doctor. You will be warmly welcomed at the front desk. From setting our 1st appointment through every step following, this practice is outstanding. My son has had issues for years with his flat feet. We have been to other specialists prior to moving to NH and none compare to Dr. Christie. He has a heart of gold and is wonderful. The office is clean and professional and you will feel right at home the moment you arrive. Setting follow up appointments is easy too! Thank you Dr. Christie for the care for our son.”

Ellen C

“Phenomenal experience! Got an appointment 3 days from my phone call! As a new patient seeing a specialist for the first time, that in itself was a miracle! Dr. Christie and his secretary were very kind and understanding! The doctor removed a painful corn from my toe in minutes!
I will be using this practice from now on for all my foot care needs! Thank you for helping me!”
